Charlotte De Windt began playing the piano at the age of 8 at the Music Workshop for Youth in Assenede, under the guidance of Lief Ceelen. It quickly became clear that the piano would hold a central place in her life. Before turning 14, she was admitted to the secondary arts program at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, where she later continued her higher education. In 2009, she obtained her master’s degree under Johan Lybeert and Frans Van Beveren.
Alongside her studies, Charlotte developed a strong interest in Edwin Gordon’s Music Learning Theory and began creating musical workshops for babies and toddlers. It was during this period that the Suzuki seed was planted.
After several years teaching part-time in the arts education sector, she took a new path and became a piano technician and consultant at Piano’s Maene. There, she continues to enthusiastically share her passion for the instrument with everyone she meets.
As a mother of two young children, Charlotte has, in recent years, reconnected deeply with the world of childhood. Her younger daughter’s musical journey, which began with Suzuki violin lessons, rekindled Charlotte’s desire to teach. Inspired by the method’s caring and human-centered philosophy, she decided to begin training as a Suzuki teacher. She is currently pursuing the pedagogical training with Daniel Fajardo in Spain.
Charlotte deeply believes in the power of learning within a warm and stimulating environment, where child, parent, and teacher progress together in trust and wonder.
Inspired by the philosophy and nurturing approach of the Suzuki method, she decided to follow the Suzuki teacher-training path. In early 2025, she began her training with Daniel Fajardo Pérez in Spain. In November, she completed level 1 and is now enthusiastically working toward level 2. Her goal is to complete all five levels.
